Participation.

This Celtic event is a combination of a fest and a gathering of music, dance, storytelling and singing, mainly from the Irish and Scottish traditions.

Musicians, who are interested in playing, are welcome to join the many sessions with an open mindset and willingness to participate on whatever level he/she is on. Beginners can learn a lot here. Advanced musicians are having a lot of fun and learn from one another.

Some musicians and singers will offer workshops and presentations. Others will be a part of performances.

If you bring an instrument you are welcome to join us for a free supper Saturday evening.

Money.

Berea Celtic Fest and Gathering is, to be frank, a low-budget event that focuses on bringing musicians and others together in a welcoming and friendly environment .

Musicians are not being paid to participate, but folks who have been invited to lead

- workshops

- presentations

- sessions

and

- perform

may be offered gas money, accommodation in private homes, and some meals.

If you prefer to stay at a hotel or motel, we have special deals with Red Roof Inn and Boone Tavern.

Otherwise use B&Bs and other motels.

Vendors.

Every year, we are being approached by sincere vendors, who want to sell food, jewelry, books, flip-flops, etc.

Only on rare occasions have we accepted vendors with a relevant purpose and not every year.

In general, we encourage guests and participants to experience our town and support the local economy.

There are plenty of eateries, gift and crafts shops to visit.

We do have a selection of merchandise incl. t-shirts and CDs.

Musicians are allowed to sell their own stuff.
